Comparatives
• We use comparative adjectives to compare people, animals or things.
A tiger is quicker than an elephant. My bedroom is smaller than the living room.
• We always follow the comparative adjective with than, not that.
A tiger is quicker than many animals.   NOT A tiger is quicker that an elephant.

Superlatives

• We use superlative adjectives to compare three or more people, animals or things.
John and Pete are tall, but Gary is the tallest.
Coconut cake and lemon cake are lovely, but chocolate cake is the best!
• Generally, we form superlatives by adding -est to the adjective and putting the before it,
but there are exceptions (see table).
